Managing Food Safety in Stores, and Activities for Security and Disaster Preparedness
Our directly-managed stores at the Haneda passenger terminals are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our customers while they shop. In addition to stringent food safety management, store sales staff conduct patrols of the area as well as daily visual checks of disaster preparedness equipment and electrical outlets in and around the store.
Moreover, they actively participate in disaster preparedness and security activities by voluntarily conducting related drills and seminars.
Food Safety Management
We have developed a robust system to ensure food safety, with strict standards for the management of quality and hygiene. In addition, municipal food sanitation instructors make weekly rounds to provide guidance. We also put great effort into carefully managing food safety. This includes encouraging participation in seminars to learn about food sanitation and acquiring of relevant qualifications, and fostering the skills of sales staff through the use of food sanitation manuals.
Inspection of Disaster Preparedness Equipment in Stores
During day-to-day operations, staff conducts checks of their store’s electrical outlets and various equipment, such as bladed instruments. Additionally, when stores open, staff meticulously confirm the availability of nearby fire extinguishers or fire hydrants, evacuation signs, and emergency exits. Furthermore, during business hours, staff carries out safety checks in their store’s vicinity every two hours.
Disaster Prevention and Evacuation Training
To ensure that customers can be evacuated quickly and effectively in the event of a fire, we conduct evacuation, notification, and fire extinguishing drills once a month after stores are closed.
Additionally, before busy periods such as the Golden Week consecutive holidays, summer holidays, and the year-end and New Year season, we coordinate with the Disaster Prevention and Security Department to carry out crime prevention drills.
Fire Extinguisher and Fire Hydrant Trainings
We conduct fire extinguisher and fire hydrant trainings for store sales staff three times a year.
This prepares our staff for unforeseen situations by making sure key staff are capable of swiftly and effectively extinguishing a fire should one occur.
