1. Basic Principles

In the event of the issuance of a major tsunami warning for the inner part of Tokyo Bay by the Japan Meteorological Agency or a report by television, radio, or other media based on such warning, we will initiate evacuation in a manner that gives top priority to protecting human lives with the goal of completing evacuation within 10 minutes to evacuation floors which are 10 meters or higher above sea level.

◆ Evacuation floors which are 10 meters or higher above sea level (measured by floor level) (in meters)

2. Initiation of Evacuation

● When the Japan Meteorological Agency issues a major tsunami warning for the inner part of Tokyo Bay, a recorded emergency announcement will be made over the public address system. Please immediately act for evacuation in accordance with the instructions of airport personnel.

◆ Recorded emergency announcements

“A major tsunami warning has been released Please evacuate to the 2nd floor.”

<<Terminal 2>>
“A major tsunami warning has been released Please evacuate to the 2nd floor.”

<<Parking Structures>>
“A major tsunami warning has been released Please evacuate to the 3rd floor.”

● Following a recorded emergency announcement, the Disaster Control Center will make non-recorded emergency announcements about the details, which are heard only in the terminal buildings. Please act calmly, following the instructions of airport personnel.

◆ Example of non-recorded emergency announcements

“This is Haneda Airport Disaster Control Center, making an announcement. A major tsunami warning has been issued for the inner part of Tokyo Bay. If you are on the 1.5th or lower floor, please evacuate to the second floor.
A tsunami is estimated to arrive at the airport around XX:XX. Please don't panic and act calmly, following the instructions of airport personnel.
At present, we do not expect that the second and higher floors will be affected by the tsunami; so if you are on these floors, please stay where you are, watching out for falling objects, and follow the instructions of airport personnel.”

3. Evacuation Route

When evacuating from the basement and the first floor to evacuation floors, please follow major tsunami evacuation signs shown in the buildings.
