Tokyo International Airport at Haneda, the core base of Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd., was returned to Japan by the United States in 1952, at which time its name was changed from "Tokyo Aerodrome" to "Tokyo International Airport". With this resumption of the gateway to Japan, there was an urgent necessity to provide the facility with the functions of an international airport fully capable of serving Tokyo.
To meet this crucial need, Japan Airport Terminal Co., Ltd. was established and commissioned to construct and manage the terminal building with private capital in cooperation with Japan's leading business companies.

| July 1994 | Osaka Office opened at Kansai International Airport. |

| July 2004 | Head Office moved from Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku to Haneda Airport. |
| Dec. 2004 | Terminal 2 commenced operations. |
| Feb. 2005 | Chubu Office opened in time with opening of Central Japan International Airport. Wholesale of duty-free goods commenced with the opening of Central Japan International Airport. |
| Feb. 2007 | South Pier in Terminal 2 commenced operations. |
| Sep. 2007 | International charter flights between Haneda and Shanghai(Hongqiao) commenced. |
| Dec. 2007 | P4 multi-story parking commenced operations. |
| Apr. 2008 | International charter flights between Haneda and Hong Kong commenced (during specific hours). |
| Apr. 2009 | Designated as an airport facilities operator according to the revised Airport Act. |
